Exigent Networks Wins Connectivity Contract for Waterford City & County Council Merger

“Waterford City and County council had an immediate requirement to deploy a low latency point-to-point solution between their two data centres in Waterford and Dungarvan.”

Cillian McCarthy Director

Exigent Networks were recently awarded a contract to supply, install and support a new high capacity Wide Area Network (WAN) link for the upcoming merger of the City and County Councils in Waterford. The Council had initially put in place a point-to-point connection using their existing government networks connections but due to latency limitations over the link they had an immediate requirement to deploy a low latency point-to-point solution between their two data centres in Waterford and Dungarvan. The contract was awarded to Exigent Networks in November and due to the Council’s requirements to migrate their systems in early January, the point-to-point link needed to be installed and commisioned before the end of December. Working with one of our existing high site partners, we delivered a 250Mb/s full duplex radio link between City Hall in Waterford and County Hall in Dungarvan in less than three weeks. The Council now enjoys sub 1ms latency between their data centres. YOUR NETWORK. OUR VISION. Waterford City and County council had an immediate requirement to deploy a low latency point-to-point solution between their two data centres in Waterford and Dungarvan.
